In Search of Takumi

In Search of Takumi is a series of five films that draw parallels between the fine Takumi Craftsmanship in Lexus cars and highly-skilled artisans in the UK. Each episode will focus on a different Lexus car and material. An expert British craftsperson will then create a bespoke piece inspired by the design of the vehicle, and crafted from the material featured within it.

Episode One: Leather

Episode one features Otis Ingrams, who is considered to be one of the best young leatherworkers in Britain. He crafts a unique leather chair inspired by the dynamism of the Lexus LC, and the quality of the upholstery in its interior.

Episode Two: Glass

Episode Two features Peter Layton, who is considered to be one of the most renowned glassmakers in the UK. He crafts a unique glass sculpture inspired by the design and craftsmanship in the Lexus LS.

Episode Three: Metal

There's more to blacksmith Will Barker's metal sculpture than meets the eye. Find out how it was inspired by the craftsmanship and design of the Lexus ES saloon in episode three of In Search of Takumi.

Episode Four: Wood
