denmARK 2024

Shot on my Leica M6 with roll after roll of Eastman Double-X 5222, Broken Home is a series of stills from a quiet, freezing February trip to the northernmost tip of Denmark. The coastal wind was sharp and metallic, salt on every surface, the sea a flat sheet of grey steel. Nestled by the waterline, an abandoned house stood half-swallowed by sand and silence — its cracked windows and sagging frame like a held breath.

The Double-X sings in that cold light: dense shadows, silvered midtones, and a crisp, lived-in grain that clings to every edge. Vivien moves through the frames like a ghost in wool — solemn, soft-eyed, unshaken by the cold — grounding the ruin in something human, something held. A torn curtain, a rotting windowsill, bare trees clawing at an empty sky — every detail feels quiet and final.
