Bornsick: Exploring Queer Identity Through Performance

Bornsick is a short documentary capturing the creation and performance of Lewis Walker’s powerful new work, premiering at The Edinburgh Festival’s FirstStage Studios on 23rd August 2025. Co-commissioned with Serpentine, the film explores the evolution of a body and identity shaped by external forces—examining how illness, culture, and expectation intertwine from birth. Through striking cinematography and intimate reflection, it reveals the transformation of movement into meaning: a character built through repetition, resistance, and release. Both confronting and cathartic, Bornsick stands as a moving portrait of healing, identity, and rebirth.
